The Super Gun
#1. This was my last and favorite photo I took of the Super Gun. When taking this photo, I wanted to capture the velocity of the snow coming out of the gun and I felt this one did a good job of doing that. The photo was taken closer to the snow gun than in other pictures. I really liked the contrast that I achieved in taking this picture by using the flash. It made the background turn black and everything else pop out in the image.
#2. This was my second favorite picture that I took of the Super Gun. I really liked this photograph, because it capture both the cloud of smoke and the mountains in the background. This photograph was taken without flash and it made a big difference. The snow gun doesn't contrast in this photograph like in the first one, but still looks clear and it is easy to see the great amount of snow that the snow gun is producing. I feel like it could fit well as a narrative piece.

I love the first photo! The contrast really is nice and makes the snow look like stars! The angle it is taken at is very interesting as well.
ReplyDeleteI also like the first picture. It certainly does show how powerful the the gun is. The black background really brings out the details and it is amazing how much the snow really looks like stars.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos, I work at a mountain and definitely know how powerful those guns can be. You do a good job of showing off the details of everything. Good job!
ReplyDeleteCody- I love your pictures. The first one could be in outer space. The dark sky really contrasts well with the ice and snow. The spots in the sky look like they could be stars. If I didn't know the subject of the picture- it could definitely be attached to a spacecraft. The second picture is still really good but is much more grounded -more obvious what the subject matter is. I love the landscape in the background and how you can see it through the mist of the snow guns. Two really distinct perspectives.
